Lack of ß-carotene, even with a good supply of vitamin A, leads to dangerous disorders of the reproductive glands and other organs of sheep and goats. These disorders have a negative effect on the reproductive capacity of the animals, which is manifested, inter alia, by weak, chronic estrus, irregular sex cycles, ovulation disorders and deficient development of the corpus luteum. Kids and lambs from mothers with carotene deficiency are weak and more often suffer from gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea). In the case of ewes before and during breeding, nutrition influences the occurrence of heat, ovulation and embryo mortality, and during pregnancy it determines the dynamics of fetus development and subsequent milk production of ewes. The milk yield of the mothers determines the quality of the lamb’s development. The use of Dolmix OVI mwk in combination with Dolmix Beta-Carotene ensures the attainment of the so-called breeding condition.
